Waste disposal locally
The main Dammstrasse recycling point does not accept refuse, bulky waste or garden waste, but does take glass, metal and other recyclables. It is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 to 12 and 13.30 to 17.30, Tuesdays and Thursdays only from 13.30 to 18.30, and Saturdays from 8 to 14.

Housing market
From autumn 2026 a cultural and community centre is being built on the Zeughaus site at Berchtoldstrasse, with a housing project alongside it, part of which is non-profit housing; the opening is planned for 2028. Shortly before that, a new build with around 6,700 square metres of rental flats of between 2.5 and 4.5 rooms was completed on the Gerichtsplatz site.
