What applies in Dürnten
The Swiss Federal Office of Energy puts the solar electricity potential of the suitable roof surfaces in Dürnten at 45.31 GWh a year. July accounts for 6.20 GWh of that, December for 1.20 GWh, roughly 5.2 times as much in summer. An array's annual yield is therefore decided in the summer half of the year, which is exactly when soiled modules cost the most.
The municipality spans 466 to 800 metres above sea level. Higher up, snow sits longer on shallow-pitched modules, and where it does slide off it leaves a band of grime and moss along the lower edge.
A peri-urban residential community, loosely built up and spread across three districts: Tann with a good half of the population, Dürnten with a good quarter, and Oberdürnten.
